Learn how to wear a kimono

A very memorable experience is to try on a Japanese kimono. Although they are worn less often nowadays, the Kimono (and the closely related Yukata) is still worn at important events in Japan, such as weddings. Ladies’ kimonos come in all sorts of wonderful colours and are often beautifully decorated, whilst men’s tend to be darker and more conservative. Putting on a kimono correctly is a tricky thing and we can arrange for you to be taught this complicated procedure by members of the Women’s Association of Kyoto (WAK Japan). There will be plenty of opportunity have photos taken once you are fully robed. This is a fun experience for men and women of all ages and for kids.
