Cycle around Tamsui

If you find yourself with some free time in Taipei, head north on the red Metro line to the last stop, Tamsui (also known as Danshui), and explore by bike. Next to the Metro station is a place where you can rent bicycles by the hour and although the staff there might not be able to speak English, they should be able to provide you with map of the local area so you can set off along the cycle paths and explore independently.

Tamsui is a scenic coastal area, popular with locals (beware crowds at weekends and on holidays)         and it has a large selection of restaurants, cafés shops, hawker stalls and street performers. Other points of interest include Tamsui Museum, Hobe Fort and a large fish market.
