Walking tour of Mumbai's markets

We recommend an early morning or late afternoon visit to the colourful local markets of Mumbai. A typical walking tour would start at the historic Crawford Market and its bas-relies, and then visiting the steel-pot shops on Lokmanya Tilak Road, market stalls around Mumbadevi Temple (the shrine which gave Mumbai its name), Bhuleshwar Market and Zaveri Bazaar (Jeweller’s Market), Yadnik Chowk (where plumbers and painters wait for customers on the sidewalks) and the antique market of Chor Bazaar (Thieves Market).
