Seafood, Floating & Railway markets

Leave your Bangok hotel and transfer to Wong Wien Yai Railway Station. From here board a local train and take a 40 minute ride through the suburbs of Bangkok until you reach Mahachai Station. A short walk from the station brings you to the famous Mahachai Seafood Market which teems with different varieties of fish and shellfish. After a look around the market meet up with your driver for the 20 minute drive to Amphawa. On arrival you will have a look around the floating market which is very popular at weekends with domestic tourists. Here you will have a chance to take a boat through the canals that make up the market and out into the main river where you will make a stop at a wat that has been 'swallowed' by Banyan trees. Return to Amphawa for lunch in one of the many small restaurants (payable locally), then drive to nearby Mae Klong Railway Market. Featured in Discovery Channel’s 'Travel & Living' series this now world famous market is precariously positioned along a railway track. Trains pass through the market up to eight times a day and your arrival will co-incide with the most convenient train time. See market stalls, and all sorts of produce, cleared from the railway line as the train arrives at the station - only to be returned to the tracks once the train has passed through. After this final spectacle of the day return to Bangkok, arriving mid-afternoon.
