Hill Tribe Village Trek

A three day adventure from Chiang Mai in the Doi Chiang Dao Mountain Range that takes in some moderately tough trekking, homestays in ethnic hill tribe villages, wonderful scenery and a chance to see birds and other wildlife as you walk.

On day one drive into the hills west of Chiang Mai until you reach the trekking start point from where there will be three hours of walking before you arrive at a village for your first homestay with a local family. Day two is a bit tougher with six hours of walking along mountain ridge trails that are regularly used by local villagers with scenic views of the Maetang River Valley on the way. Your home for the night is a bamboo hut with dinner cooked by your local guide. On the last day you descend into the valley for an elephant experience before returning to Chiang Mai to put your feet up!

A great experience for anyone of a reasonable fitness level keen on seeing some of Thailand’s wonderful scenery and meeting some of the friendly hill tribe villagers that inhabit the mountains.
