Farmhouse Homestay

One of the best ways of getting under the skin of nation is to spend some time living with its indigenous population and our farmhouse homestays are designed to do just that.

Homestays are available in Punakha and Gangtey and generally after time to explore the local area you will drive to a local farmhouse where you will be staying the night. You will meet your host family and they will look after you until the following morning. You will enjoy a home-cooked dinner and you will experience traditional Bhutanese village life. You may even be asked to help out with chores or some light work on the farm.

However please note homestays are basic and not for everyone as you will usually be sleeping on mattresses on the floor, the accommodation will be very simple and facilities shared with your host family. That said they are great opportunities to meet with the locals and learn a little bit more about the culture of Bhutan. Your guide will always be on hand to help with language translation (if needed).
