Cycle around Sun Moon Lake

The beautiful Sun Moon Lake is a renowned destination for cycling and there is no better way to explore the area than on 2 wheels. Pathed cycling trails have been set up covering much of the edge and a complete loop around the lake by bike will take around 5-6 hours. However, currently the cycling trails don’t cover the full perimeter and there are few places you have to cycle on a busy road and up and down some hills, so for some it is preferable to keep your cycling to a certain part of the lake. Bikes can be rented from the Shueishe Visitor Centre on the northern shore, so using this as your base you’ll find many of the lake’s highlights are within easy striking distance including the Wenwu Temple.
