Hike on the Pha Phanang Mountain Trails

The relatively flat plain where the Laos capital sits is not known for its hiking and trekking options, there are actually some great trails within an easy drive of Vientiane. One of the best opportunities for both hiking and cycling in the Vientiane region is at Pha Phanang Mountain. Here there are trails of all lengths and difficulties for visitors to enjoy. We recommend taking a two hour hike up to a viewpoint from where you will be rewarded with breath-taking views out over both Laos and Thailand on the other side of the Mekong.
