Climb Mt Kinabalu

At 4095m, Mt Kinabalu is one of the tallest mountains in South East Asia and, with truly spectacular views from the summit, we urge all keen climbers to add this climb to your tour of Sabah. Most climbers take 2 days to reach the summit, stopping overnight and staying in a shared dormitory at the Laban Rata guesthouse to adjust to the altitude before setting off extremely early the following morning (c2am!) to reach the summit for sunrise. On a clear day you can see Kota Kinabalu and the islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park to the west. The climb is physically tough and should only be attempted by those with a good level of fitness.
