Robinson Crusoe experience

The Philippines offers some great chances to get ‘off the grid’ whilst having a memorable time, but there are few more exciting opportunities than that of spending a couple of nights ‘Robinson Crusoe style’ on secluded Ginto Island - a pristine tropical island that is situated in the Palawan archipelago. Access here is by outrigger boat, and at certain times of year (December to May) the island offers camping adventures using tents that are erected on its white sand beaches. This Ginto Island adventure is ideal for those looking to get away from it all - with a rustic beach experience at your fingertips for a couple of days. Accommodation is in basic private tents which are fitted with a mattress, sheet and pillow, whilst dining and bathroom facilities are shared with other island guests. On your arrival day, the simple island life is all yours, with swimming and snorkelling very much the order of the day, and in the evening dinner is served around the bonfire before it is time to sleep under the stars. On your second day explore the mini-archipelago that Ginto Island is a part of by boat, then return to your island camp for time to snorkel and swim before a second night under the stars.
