Brave the Heights of Huashan

Huashan is one of China's five most sacred mountains and is renowned for its precipitous cliffs. The mountain is within easy reach of Xi’an and can easily be explored in a day. You can choose to take the cable car to the north peak of Huashan, around 1,614.9 metres high, and from there you will have a chance to see the Thousand Foot Stone Pillar, Lianhua Peak, Yuquan Court and Changjin Pavilion. Or you may prefer to brave the heights and reach the peak using one of the walking trails leading up the mountain. You can enjoy a lunch in one of the many local restaurants and further explore the area to see some of the impressive, strangely shaped, granite peaks and twisted pines that are a feature of this lesser visited holy mountain before returning to Xi’an.
