See baby sea turtles hatching

The Maldives is one of the best places in the world for spotting seat turtles in the wild. These amazing creatures are often sighted on snorkelling or diving trips. If you are extra lucky then your visit may coincide with turtles nesting or even hatching while you are there.

Sea turtles lay their eggs all year, but the most active nesting months are May and June and the main hatching season is from July to August. Turtles can be seen all around the Maldives, but the best area for sightings is the Lhaviyani Atoll. Sightings of newborn hatchlings are never guaranteed, but your resort should be able to tell you if there are any active nesting sites nearby during your stay.
