Drop in for a dram of award winning whisky

A journey along the Su Hua Highway, which links Taipei with the east coast city of Hualien, is an unforgettable experience as the road winds its way down Taiwan’s east coast sandwiched between mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Discerning whisky drinkers may wish to break up the three hour journey with a stop at an award winning whiskey distillery. The first Kavalan Whisky launched in 2008 and has gone on to win a host of prestigious awards in a very short time, including ‘the best single malt’ at the 2015 World Whiskies Awards. Produced at the King Car distillery, Taiwan’s unique natural resources, including spring water from Taiwan’s central mountain range, and climate combine to make a truly world-class whisky. A stop at the distillery will include a guided tour with one of the distillery’s guides to learn about the Whisky’s production cycle and a tasting class where you’ll get to sample four award winning whiskies.
