Stay at a Hanok in Andong

Korean traditional housing is known as a 'hanok' - low-lying courtyard dwellings, usually constructed from brick or stone, with timber frames and tiled roofs. There are several places throughout the country where one can sample staying in a hanok-style hotel, but possibly our favourite is the Rakkojae in Andong. Simply-furnished but thoroughly welcoming, and in a truly beautiful location on the edge of the Hahoe folk village.
