Explore Bundi's Stepwells

The small city has been home to over 50 baori, or stepwells. Unfortunately only a few have been maintained to a decent standard, but they are well worth visiting to admire both the impressive architecture involved, and to also enjoy the social aspect of these communal meeting places. Further engineering marvels can be found during a tour of Taragarh Fort, which dominates the citys’ landscape and history. The fort contains three tanks which, accordingly to local folklore, have never run dry; the technique with which they were built have been lost to the ages, but the tanks survive as a testament to the advanced methods of construction and engineering in medieval India.
