Huangpu River Cruise

To really get a perspective on how Shanghai has changed over the years, a cruise down the Huangpu River is essential. With futuristic Pudong towering over one side, and the majestic view of the Bund on the other, you can see clearly how old and new Shanghai can still live side by side. Cruises can last from 30 minutes anywhere up to 3 hours, depending on your time and interest, and can be easily arranged locally in Shanghai. They depart all day long, but to really get the full effect it is best to take a cruise at night, when the buildings are spectacularly lit up and the experience even more dramatic.
