Afternoon tour of Saigon: This afternoon you will visit some of Saigon's historic landmarks. Start with the former Presidential Palace which was once headquarters for the Saigon Government during the "American War". Then head to the historical heart of the city and visit the Notre Dame Cathedral. The red bricks of the cathedral walls were originally from Paris. From there, take a short walk to the old Central Post Office, then visit the best-preserved buildings from the colonial era, the Opera House and the Hotel de Ville, which is now home to Saigon’s municipal authorities. Continue to the Catinat building. Built in 1927 in an art deco style, it has once again become a hub for fashion conscious Saigonese and contains many designer boutiques, galleries, restaurants and cafés.
Accommodation: Stay tonight at the Villa Song Saigon (Sanctuary Room)
Morning local life tour: Wake up early this morning and start your day like a real Saigonese does! Your guide will show you things that make Saigon so different compared to other parts of Vietnam, from the morning crowded street coffee places to the lively local outdoor markets where people shop for their daily needs. Your first stop is a Vietnamese bread stall which is believed to be the first bread stall in Saigon. Sit down together with the local people inside a small alley to enjoy this simple yet delicious breakfast. After breakfast, zig zag through the alleys and stop at a market for a cup of tea or coffee in Saigon’s oldest café. This coffee shop, now in its 78th year of operation, is something of a Saigon landmark. Meet the owner for a talk to learn how she makes coffee with such a special yet traditional method, a kind of “stocking coffee” which was originally the method of Chinese coffee vendors and involved a long, stocking-like fabric filter, a charcoal stove and traditional clay pots. Continue to wind your way through nearby street markets to see how people bargain for fresh vegetables, seafood and other local food. Carry on to the “flower alleys” – the biggest flower market in Saigon. Take the opportunity to see the colourful blossoms, and interact with the sellers. Stop at some vendors to try some favourite Saigonese snacks and desserts such as sponge cakes and sweet soups before heading back to your hotel to freshen up.
Afternoon at leisure: This afternoon you have some free time at leisure to relax and continue exploring Saigon at your own pace.
Private Saigon after dark tour by Vespa: A foodie tour on the back of a Vespa in the early evening is the perfect way to explore this exciting city. The tour reveals the city's culinary secrets, taking you to see and taste exotic foods and brews in Saigon's authentic nightspots. First, your vespa driver / tour guide will stop at a small shop with a reputation of selling the best “Banh Mi” in town. Choose your own stuffed Banh Mi then proceed to a small coffee shop where you can enjoy a drink before continuing your ride through busy streets and alleys, witnessing the local life at night. Continue on to a vendor selling authentic Banh Xeo. Enjoy interacting with your vespa drivers and other locals while trying this Vietnamese specialty. Another habit of Saigonese at night is eating seafood and your night wouldn’t be complete without tasting some local seafood at a hidden “Oc” (seafood) vendor located away from the busy city. Before reaching this place, you will pass the city's downtown which is very lively at night, see youngsters out enjoying the evening on Nguyen Hue Walking Boulevard and the numerous colourful stores along the streets. After enjoying some seafood, your driver will take you to a hidden Vietnamese style pub to enjoy a cup of local beer before finishing with a visit to an acoustic bar. Stop here for a drink or two and enjoy the music before being transferred back to your hotel.
Times will be confirmed locally, but this tour usually starts around 6pm and finishes at around 10pm. Please note that the exact itinerary of the tour is subject to change.

Morning tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels: After breakfast travel out of the city to the Cu Chi Tunnels. This vast network of tunnels, stretching for over 150 kilometres, was built by the Viet Cong in the battles for the South. The tunnels are a sobering insight into the dedication of the Viet Cong who virtually lived in the narrow and claustrophobic tunnels whilst the war raged. Nearby, a chilling demonstration of the traps and weapons that were used against the Americans is given. The Cu Chi tunnels have been widened in places for visitors, however they can still be dark, hot and claustrophobic inside so please bear this in mind if you do not like enclosed spaces.
Afternoon at leisure in Ho Chi Minh City: This afternoon you have time at leisure in this bustling Asian metropolis. Relax at your hotel, or explore independently. Great shopping opportunities can be found in busy Ben Thanh market as well as numerous glitzy modern malls, while great food can be found on every corner either on the street or in a number of fantastic upmarket restaurants.
