A comprehensive look around the Fort should include the Palace of Mirrors, inlaid with millions of tiny glistening mirrors, the hall of Public Audience, and the beautiful, manicured gardens. Wake up with Jaipur Pink City Rickshaw tour: The Pink City Rickshaw Company is an NGO providing training and employment for women from low-income households in Jaipur. The first company to offer rickshaw tours run exclusively by female drivers, this is a great chance to explore the city and support a worthy cause at the same time. Start early this morning and take a two hour ride with your Pink City Rickshaw canopy down and feel the crisp air on empty streets of this usually bustling city. See the Hawa Mahal before the crowds, visit a wholesale flower market, experience a Morning Prayer chanting at a 18th century temple, and see the white marble Birla Mandir.
Guided tour of Jaipur: Start the tour of the old city with a visit to the City Palace which is situated in the heart of the city. The whole complex is wonderfully laid out with large courtyards, balconies, cupolas, arched entrances and gardens, which are a combination of Rajput and Mughal architecture. The museum here displays the rich heritage of the Jaipur family in miniature paintings, textiles, garments, books & manuscripts, carpets, palanquins and weapons dating back to the 15th century.
Leaving the City Palace behind you will move on to the Jantar Mantar (medieval observatory). Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II had a passion for astronomy which led him to build five astronomical observatories in India at Jaipur, Ujjain, Varanasi, Mathura and Delhi. The observatory at Jaipur, built in 1728, is the largest and best preserved of them. The observatory has a curious collection of sculptures which enable the calculation of many astronomical and astrological events like eclipses etc. Each of these structures was built after relentless study of books, manuscripts and discussions with scholars from all over the world. Even today they are put to good use.
Rejoin your driver to drive past Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Built in 1799 Hawa Mahal, or the Palace of Winds, is one of the landmarks of Jaipur although it is little more than a façade. It is a five-storey building in pink, built to enable the women of the harem to see the activities of the outside world without being seen themselves.

Road journey to Udaipur, via Chittorgarh: After breakfast you will leave Shahpura and head by road across southern Rajasthan to Udaipur. This will be a journey of around 4-5 hours, and on the way you will stop at Chittorgarh to visit the largest Fort complex in India. Chittorgarh, once the capital of the Sisodia Rajputs of Mewar, represents the quintessence of Rajput pride and valour. It was here that the chivalrous Rajputs - men and women - repeatedly gave up their lives, preferring death to dishonour and surrender. Throughout its history, this fortified settlement saw siege after siege but refused to bow before foreign power. The ruins of the great monuments at Chittor speak volumes of the many grim and glorious deeds of heroism and sacrifice. A knowledgeable guide from Udaipur will be waiting for you on arrival to show you around this magnificent fortress. After time exploring the fort, continue on to Delwara, just outside Udaipur, to check in to the dramatic Devigarh and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Morning tour of Udaipur: After breakfast this morning you will be taken into Udaipur, just 30 minutes to the south, for a guided tour. Start your exploration at the huge City Palace, which towers over the eastern shore of Lake Pichola. This is the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, and is a blend of imposing Rajput military architecture on the outside and lavish decorative art on the inside. Initial construction was started by Maharana Udai Singh, the city's founder; the City Palace is made up of at least four separate interconnecting palaces built over a period of nearly three centuries. The main part of the palace is now preserved as a museum which houses interesting artefacts from the heady days of royalty.
You will follow on with a visit to Sahelion-Ki-Bari: beautiful gardens laid out in the mid-18th century for a retinue of forty-eight young ladies-in-waiting, who were sent to Udaipur as part of a princess's dowry. The gardens boast beautiful lawns, lotus pools, marble pavilions and marble elephant-shaped fountains - all of which reinforces the romantic reputation of Udaipur. Next continue to Jagdish Temple, sitting just outside the northern gates of the City Palace. This Indo-Aryan temple enshrines a black stone image of Lord Vishnu as Jagannath, the creator of the universe.
Boat ride on Lake Pichola: Later on in the afternoon you will join a shared boat cruise on scenic Lake Pichola. From the boat one will get unmatched views of the two islands in the lake, the Jagniwas Island and Jagmandir Island. Jagniwas is the island on which beautiful Lake Palace was built by Maharana Jagat Singh II in 1754. Today, it has been converted into a luxurious heritage hotel, with courtyards, fountains and gardens, and immortalised on screen as the lair of Octopussy in the 1983 Bond film of the same name. After the tour you will have some time at leisure to look for souvenirs or return direct to your hotel to relax.
