Fregate Island Private is one of the Seychelles most important conservation sanctuaries. The island’s owners have rehabilitated acres of indigenous forest by planting tens of thousands of trees, and it is now home to a dazzling array of tropical birds and around 3,000 free-roaming Giant Aldabra tortoises, as well as providing a safe haven for the endangered Hawksbill turtle. Aside from its eco-credentials the Fregate Island is also a luxury resort which can be hired for exclusive use should the mood and budget suit! There are 16 secluded villas which are surrounded by lush foliage and overlook the ocean. As well as amenities such as WiFi, TV, DVD/CD player, iPod station, air-conditioning & ceiling fan, safe and mini bar, the villas come with a bathroom with its own outdoor shower, a spacious sundeck, a large private infinity pool, a jacuzzi, a day bed and an outdoor dining pavilion. On the island you are invited to dine wherever you want, as a part of the island experience, but Fregate House Restaurant is also available if you prefer a more formal setting. The Rock Spa, set in a peaceful teak house on a granite hilltop, offers a range of soothing treatments. Island eco-activities include walking trails, night time safaris, turtle watching and star gazing. Water sports are available from the private inland harbour and yacht club and a PADI dive centre offers diving courses and snorkelling equipment. The island also has a Kids' Club called "Castaway" which provides an array of activities for youngsters.
