Fregate Island

Fregate Island is situated 55km to the east of Mahe and is reached by helicopter or boat. Another private island, Fregate has a small population mostly involved in tourism, conservation, agriculture or fishing. However the island is most famous for its frigate birds and also for its beautiful beaches – one of which (Anse Victorin) has been voted ‘The World’s Best Beach’ by The Times. Fregate Island offers luxury accommodation so whilst it also offers great access to nature, as with other islands, you need to have a good budget to enjoy the tropical life here.
