The House of MG considers itself the only boutique category hotel in Ahmedabad. Formerly the family home of the Mangaldas, the stately heritage property has a history dating back to the early 20th century. The property has a long history and proudly hosted Mahatma Gandhi on his return to India from South Africa in 1915. The heritage property has been tastefully refurbished and converted to a boutique hotel and retains much of its old-world charm. The property has kept its colonial heritage architecture, courtyards, and verandas but the 37 guestrooms have been equipped with all the amenities and comforts of modern living. Its onsite gallery showcases traditional textiles, jewellery and silver from the Mangaldas private collection while its two restaurants serve the best of Gujarati cuisine.
