Laxmi Vilas Palace

For almost a hundred years, the Laxmi Vilas Palace has been witness to almost every eventful happening in the princely state of Bharatpur, and has also played host to dignitaries such as the Duke of Edinburgh, Shah of Iran, King of Nepal and Shah of Afghan. In 1994 the palace was converted into a hotel, extending the same traditions of hospitality to the wider world of international travel. Despite thorough restoration, care has been taken to preserve the royal character and the spirit of the property: furniture, furnishings, even the photographs and paintings on the walls recall the gracious days of the Raj. Accommodation is found in 30 well-appointed room with all the modern amenities and facilities. Courtyard dining at Hotel Laxmi Vilas Palace is a memorable Rajasthani experience; all the fruits & vegetables used in cooking are locally produced and some are from the palace’s own organic farm.

Our Opinion

A jem of a property: seemingly in the middle of nowhere, but ideal for birders and works for Agra too!
