The Jewels of Vietnam & Burma (17 days)
Combine the cultural highlights of Burma with some of Vietnam's most iconic sights using the direct service between London and Vietnam. Start in Hanoi for a tour of Vietnam's capital, followed by an overnight cruise around the emerald waters of Halong Bay on a privately chartered boat. Fly to Yangon to start your tour of the country's most prized jewels which include the glittering Shwedagon Pagoda, the scenery of Inle Lake, the historic city of Mandalay and the majestic temples of Bagan set on the plains of the Irrawaddy. Return to Vietnam to finish the tour with a relaxing three night stay at the charismatic town of Hoi An. This tour has been designed for Burma's "Green Season", between April and September, when the crowds thin dramatically and the atmosphere returns to what it was like in days gone by. You should expect occasional showers in Burma during this season, but they will not impact on the cultural sightseeing, and the conditions in north and central Vietnam tend to be fine during these months.
