The Grand Tour of Oman (20 days)
The ‘Grand Tour’ is the ultimate three-week adventure in Oman, leaving no stone unturned and including time in the remote regions of Musandam and Dhofar as well as Muscat, Nizwa, the Al Hajar Mountains, Wahiba Sands and the northeast. This is the perfect itinerary for those who like to get under the skin of a country and truly understand all the regional variations in culture, food and scenery. The accommodation suggested generally falls into the mid-range and superior categories but, as with all our private tours, it can be adjusted to meet your preferences and budget. It also includes stays in camps in both Wahiba Sands and the Empty Quarter, two of the world’s great sandy deserts. The experiences you will have on this tour are wide-ranging and include walking in the rugged mountains, sailing on a traditional wooden dhow (Omani boat), watching the sunset over vast sand-dunes, swimming in desert wadis and witnessing rare turtles laying their eggs on the beach. You will be taken everywhere by one of our great English-speaking drivers, who will also act as your guide, but if you’d rather do parts of the itinerary yourselves, self-driving in a hired car, then this can also be arranged.
