Orient Star Khiva
With an unrivalled located right inside the walls of the Ichon-Qala, the Orient Star Khiva is housed inside a converted madrassah, and connected to the famous unfinished Kalta Minor Minaret. In traditional Uzbek style the rooms are all centered around the internal courtyard, which offers a pleasant, shaded place to sit and relax away from the bustling Old Town. The rooms are directly converted from the old student cells, and are simply furnished, but all have en suite bathrooms. As this is a traditional madraasah building, it’s important to note that most rooms do not have exterior windows, but instead have opening near the ceiling which helps to regulate the temperature in the cold winters and baking summers. A simple breakfast is included and is served in the neighbouring building.

Our Opinion
The rooms themselves are quite basic, but the Orient Star is unrivalled for both location and atmosphere, being housed within an authentic converted madrassah.
