The Shangri-La Barr Al-Jissah Resort spreads out for over 500m of pristine beach and coastline, some 40km east of Muscat. The resort encompasses three separate hotels within its vast and luxurious complex – The Al Waha, the Al Bandar and the Al Husn. There is a flabbergasting array of facilities on offer here are including six swimming pools, 15 restaurants, an extensive spa, a kids club, a dive centre and a variety of other watersports as well as other sports such as tennis and beach volleyball. There really is something for everyone here and the mountainous backdrop to the south helps to create an exotic Arabian atmosphere throughout the resort.   

With 262 rooms, the Al Waha is the more family orientated hotel with an impressive pool and garden area and a separate kids pool and club offering activities for children of all ages. The rooms are spacious, and all have their own private balcony or terrace.

The Al Bandar caters well for more mature guests and its 198 rooms are all sea-facing and come with easy access to the beach and stylish Moroccan themed bathrooms. The garden connects to the Al Waha Hotel next door.

The Al Husn is an ultra-luxurious hotel and the most exclusive out of the three Shangri-La hotels here. It caters to the most discerning of guests and has 180 rooms designed to reflect the opulence of the nearby Sultans Palace. All rooms have delightful sea-views and can take advantage of a special butler service. The Al Husn has its own 100m stretch of private beach which is not available to guests at Al Waha or Al Bandar.
