Xandari Harbour is a stand-out property in Fort Cochin. Although in keeping with Cochin’s colonial air – the hotel has been renovated from two century-old wharf warehouses – the design is bright, funky, and modern. Upon entering, one is immediately greeted by a striking waterfront pool, adjacent to a double-level café and restaurant. Polished concrete, glass, and exposed steel feature heavily in the design. The contemporary feel continues in the 16 spacious rooms, which are split on two levels; those on the first floor are particularly desirable, boasting wrap-around floor-to-ceiling windows which open up onto Cochin’s busy harbour front.
