Located directly next door to Jai Vilas Palace, the Usha Kiran is another elaborate historic palace, now run under the steady hand of the luxury Taj group. The property sits amongst 9 acres of landscaped gardens, and was constructed in 1880 by the Scindia royals as a ‘guesthouse’ for then Prince of Wales, later to become King George V. The hotel today consists of 40 exquisite rooms and a handful of villas, dotted throughout the grounds. Facilities include a small swimming pool, a rather snug bar, multi-cuisine restaurant, and Taj’s signature Jiva spa.
