Amanyangyun
A truly unique experience in metropolitan Shanghai, Amanyangyun is made up of a collection of relocated Ming & Qing Dynasty buildings set amid a forest of 1000 year old camphor trees. The villas and trees were all relocated from a historic village in rural Fuzhou, and would otherwise have been submerged by the building of a new dam. The suites & villas have all been painstakingly renovated and updated with modern comforts to meet the Aman standard. The hotel features a large Spa & Wellness Centre, which boasts both an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool, as well as a Russian Banya and a Moroccan Hamman among its many other facilities. There are five dining options, including both a Chinese and an Italian Restaurant. The centrepiece of the hotel is the impressive Nan Shufang Pavilion, which is where guests can go to learn about traditional Chinese arts & culture, with spaces for calligraphy, music, painting, and tea or incense ceremonies.
