Le Relais de Chhlong
The Relais de Chhlong is a beautifully restored and expanded former French villa set on the banks of the Mekong, dating from 1916 when it was the provincial governor’s residence during the colonial era. The hotel is conveniently located for those exploring the east of Cambodia, being walking distance from the historic town of Chhlong, a short drive from Kratie and Kampi, and half way between Phnom Penh and the wilds of Mondulkiri. The hotel has a total of 10 rooms, all tastefully decorated and furnished in a French colonial style, with many of the original features retained throughout. On the ground floor there is a wealth of space for relaxing, including an outdoor swimming pool overlooking the Mekong, a colonial style bar and lounge area adorned with period photographs and maps of Indochina, and a breezy restaurant serving French and Cambodian cuisine. The Relais de Chhlong is a charming retreat for those wishing to soak up the laid back ambiance of this untouched part of Cambodia.
