Established in 2010, the Forest Floor Lodge is Vietnam's first ecolodge to provide comfortable accommodation and well organised excursions in the Cat Tien National Park, home to a population of endangered primates and 230 species of birds. The lodge has three semi permanent African style safari tents accessed by elevated walkways, all of which come with private bathrooms, and spacious balconies overlooking the Ben Cu Rapids. Other room types include one and two bedroom Vietnamese style bungalows complete with en suite bathrooms, and private verandas with views out into the jungle. The restaurant at the lodge serves an impressive selection of Western and Asian cuisine, and for moments of relaxation the Hornbill Bar is a great venue to enjoy glorious views of the surrounding park, some bird watching or even a game of snooker. Excursions arranged by the lodge include short treks along the Dong Nai River, bird watching, mountain biking, night safaris, and visits to the Dao Tien Endangered Primate Species Centre which rehabilitates gibbons and other primates back into the wild. For the more adventurous there is the option of joining a Wild Gibbon Trek which starts before dawn to track the singing gibbons through the forest until finding a position to observe their daily rituals.
