Donsol is arguably the best location in the world for swimming with whale sharks, and the Elysia Beach Resort is an ideal base for divers intent on seeing the biggest underwater creature of them all. The resort is set in lush gardens and has a nice strip of private beach out the front. There is a pool and sunbathing area, and a good restaurant serving drinks and both local and international cuisine. The main attraction is of course the high probability of interaction with whale sharks – trips of 3 hours or more can be arranged daily and the best time of year for interaction is from November to May.
