Passport & Visa Information
Back to all travel tipsPassports
It is a requirement of the Maldivian Government that British visitors to the Maldives possess a valid 10-year passport and that the passport has at least one month validity from the date of your entry. However, we strongly recommend having a minimum of six months validity on your passport when travelling long-haul, as this is required by many airlines. Please check that your passport complies with this decree well in advance of travel.
Visa
British passport holders are not required to get a visa in advance when visiting the Maldives. Visitors will be granted a 30-day visa upon arrival, which is free of charge. You may need to provide evidence of your accommodation booking and an onward or return ticket.
