The Dolphin Beach Resort on Alankuda Beach in Kalpitiya is a delightful eco-resort which accommodates guests in their well-equipped and sturdy tents. Some tents have two rooms, ideal for families and each have an en-suite shower-room and air-conditioning (although it may not be as effective as you would find in an orthodox hotel room!) The resort has its own private stretch of beach with loungers and a beachfront outdoor swimming pool. There is also a large selection of activities that can be arranged through your resort including, kite-surfing, wind-surfing, scuba-diving, snorkeling, whale and dolphin-watching, cycling, fishing and yoga as well as excursions further afield, including to the Wilpattu National Park (all payable locally). Meals are served in the open-air dining pavilion; breakfast is a Sri Lankan and Western style buffet, lunch is usually a set menu, depending on occupancy, and a full a la carte menu is usually available for dinner with both Sri Lankan and international dishes available.
