The village of Ella on the south-eastern edge of the Hill Country is one of the region's most appealing destinations. Surrounded by rolling hills and tea plantations, there are some great walks that can be done from Ella as well as some more adrenalin fuelled activities, such as canoeing and rock climbing. Popular walks include scaling ‘Little Adam's Peak' which takes about 2 hours or for something tougher, you can undertake the 4 hour roundtrip which takes you up and down Ella Rock - you will not be disappointed with the stunning views out over the ‘Ella Gap' when you reach the top. Even if not spending the night in Ella, we recommend stopping for some time to soak up the atmosphere, enjoy the views and visit the nearby Rawana Ella Falls and Cave.
