Kithulgala

Kitulgala is small town on the western side of Sri Lanka’s hill country. In recent years it has become well known for its adventure activities which include hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and white water rafting. The rafting and kayaking take place on the Kelani River, which is also where the classic movie, ‘The Bridge on the River Kwai’ was filmed. The river boasts some exciting rapids and spectacular waterfalls. Adventure activities at Kithulgala can be arranged for those passing through but for the best experience, we recommend spending a night or two at the Borderlands Adventure Camp.
