Lakaz Chamarel is a charming rural retreat set in 12 hectares of countryside near the highland town of Chamarel and the hiking trails of the Black River Gorges National Park. This upmarket lodge has a total of 20 rooms and suites which are built to a high standard, and individually decorated to represent a cultural theme. The rooms are decorated in earthy tones and measure 50m² which includes a private terrace, whilst the larger suites come with polished wooden floors, extended seating area, private pool and views of the coastline. Meals are served in the main restaurant and at tables in the garden, from a menu inspired by authentic Mauritian cuisine, and there is a cosy bar with an outdoor decking area. Other facilities include two swimming pools, a spa with sauna, TV lounge and bicycles for exploring the local area.
