The Shiroyama Hotel is also known as the castle park hotel because it occupies the hilltop position which Kagoshima castle used to have. The hotel enjoys fantastic views over the city and onto Sakurajima volcano and is only a short taxi ride from the centre. There is also a comlimentary bus twice an hour which stops at a number of places in the city. A range of restaurants are available including sushi and tempura counters and there is a micro-brewery on site.
