The Garden Hotel Suzhou has been converted from an historic walled garden compound. Originally a residential complex for wealthy families in the 1900s, the Garden Hotel became an official state guesthouse for Communist Party leaders and foreign dignitaries in the 1950s, and some very distinguished guests have stayed here over the years. Each of the 235 spacious guestrooms and villas offer an authentic Chinese experience, coupled with every necessary modern amenity and some rather picturesque views. The hotel offers modern facilities such as a fitness centre, spa, and indoor swimming pool, as well as a restaurant, café and bar.
