Swiss Guest House
Situated at Karsumphe, this traditional farmhouse was formerly owned by the famous "Karsumphe Angye", the older sister of the first King of Bhutan. In the 1970s a number of Swiss nationals worked on a Dairy & Forestry Project here and gradually the accommodation provided became known as the Swiss Guest House. Since those days the guest house has undergone development and added more rooms which are cozy, wood panelled and come with a private bathroom. The Western food served here is reputedly some of the finest in Bumthang as the guest house is run by a cheese maker who was trained in Switzerland and dishes such as ‘Fondue' & ‘Raclette' feature on the menu. Facilities available at the guest house include a bar, a business centre, foreign currency exchange and a mini library.

Our Opinion
A taste of Western Europe in the heart of Bhutan. An intriguing, but successful mix.
