Bantayan Island is a small and little populated island located an hours' ferry off the northern tip of Cebu. The island offers the same pristine white-powder sand as found on Boracay, but with a fraction of the development or visitor numbers. There is not a buzzing tourist scene here, those that undertake the 5 hour road and ferry transfer from Cebu are looking for the peace and tranquility of arriving at such a paradisical idyll. There are a number of small resorts and local restaurants all scattered around Santa Fe - the hub, such as it is, of Bantayan. As well as pottering around Santa Fe there is a picturesque colonial-era church but otherwise, little other sightseeing to be done. Enjoy your down-time!
