Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan is the largest of Koh Samui's neighbouring islands and is just a short ferry ride away. Until recently the island was the preserve of backpackers but now a number of smarter hotels have opened up giving a wider choice of accommodation and attracting a new generation of visitors.

Life on Koh Phangan is quiet, relaxed and very laid back at least most of the time! The main beach of Hat Rin still hosts the full-moon party which attracts thousands of revellers for a couple of days each month. If you find Koh Samui a little too noisy these days then a stay in Koh Phangan might be just what you are after, except on the full moon!
