Ao Phang Nga National Park
Ao Phang Nga National Park is one of Thailand's most scenic destinations lying between Phuket and Krabi provinces, and north of the islands of Koh Yao. It is famous for its unspolit mangrove forests, and the prolific birdlife therein, its white sand beaches and for a collection of beautiful karst islets that lie just of the coast in Phang Nga Bay. Most people will recognise this park for the stunning locations that were used in the James Bond film 'The Man with the Golden Gun'. Such was the impact of this film that one of the islands in Phang Nga Bay has been christened 'James Bond Island' and now is a popular day trip from Phuket. For those seeking a longer spell in the beauty of Phang Nga Bay, with its myriad karst islands, there are yacht cruises on offer that take you from Phuket to Koh Phi Phi passing through the bay with time to snorkel or kayak in clear blue waters.
