Yehliu Geopark is on the coast to the north of Yangminshan National Park. It has long been famous for its extraordinary rock formations created by millennia of powerful north coast waves crashing into the limestone rocks. Although it can get busy with day trippers from Taipei, the Geopark is a fun place to visit and many of the rock formations have been given nicknames according to their appearance. The most famous of which is the Queen’s Head, but see if you can spot some of the others such as the Sea Candles, the Fairy Shoe, the Ice Cream Rock or the Elephant Rock.
