What passport and visa do I need to visit Oman?
Passports
It is a requirement of the Omani Government that British visitors to Oman possess a valid 10-year passport and that the passport has at least six months validity after the date you arrive in the country. Please check that your passport complies with the above well in advance of travel.
Visas for Oman
You can visit Oman for up to 14 days without a visa. To stay longer than 14 days, you will need to apply for a visa and we recommend that you apply for an e-visa before you travel, following the instructions online on the Oman e-visa website. For a tourist visa please select the ‘tourist / unsponsored visa’ option.
The charge is OMR 20 (around £40 or US$55) per person and once you have completed your application online, you will receive an email confirming the e-visa has been granted and you should have this email ready to show immigration officials. It is advisable to print this email out so you have a hard copy in case you have issues with accessing the email on arrival. You must also have to hand proof of return or onward travel (such as an airline ticket), proof of accommodation and proof of your travel health insurance, should these be required.
