What passport and visa do I need to visit Nepal?

Passports
It is a requirement of the Nepalese Government that British visitors to Nepal possess a valid 10-year passport and that the passport has at least six months validity from the date of your entry. Please check that your passport complies with this decree well in advance of travel.

Visa
Nepal’s government requires British passport holders to have a visa for entry into Nepal. Your entry visa can be obtained in one of two ways:

(i) On arrival - visas are available on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) and at some land borders. You will need to have two passport-sized photos with you and complete the appropriate immigration form which you can obtain at the airport. Currently a 15-day multiple entry visa costs US$30, and a 30-day multiple entry visa costs US$50 (please note prices can change without prior warning). You can pay in Sterling or US Dollars at the airport.

(ii) In advance - visas can be obtained from the nearest Nepalese Embassy. To apply for a Nepalese visa in the UK you should contact:

Nepalese Embassy
12A Kensington Palace Gardens
