The only requirement for British citizens entering Japan is a passport valid for the full duration of your stay.

Visas for Japan
British passport holders are permitted to stay up to 90 days in Japan without a visa. You may need to provide evidence of an onward or return ticket. For specific visa questions you can contact the Japanese Embassy in London:
