Yamaguchi

The main city of the Yamaguchi prefecture, Yamaguchi city is a friendly place and home to the spectaculr National Treasure five-storied Rurikoji Temple. The temple itself makes a visit to Yamaguchi worthwhile but there are other delights to explore within the city, including the Joeji Temple and the Daijingu Shrine. A short drive out of the city takes you up onto the Akiyoshidai Plateau, home to the highest concentration of karst formations in Japan and a great place to do some hiking or to explore by Segway!
