Hohhot - Inner Mongolia Province

The capital of China’s Inner Mongolia province, the ‘Blue City’ as it is known in Mongolian, is at first glance a typical Northern Chinese city. However, on a second look, the city’s Mongolian heritage is clear in the brightly coloured temples, the language spoken by the indigenous Mongols still living here, and in the mix of ethnicities and food. Hohhot provides easy access to the spectacular open grasslands that this part of China is famed for.
