Wuyishan - Fujian Province
Located in Fujian Province, Wuyishan is an area of stunning natural beauty as well as being one of the country's key tea-producing regions. The mountainous scenic area is characterised by rocky peaks - reminiscent of those found in the area around Guilin in Southwest China - and pristine forests, all cut through by the meandering 'Nine Bends River'. The region was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for both its natural scenery as well as its tea culture. Wuyishan is the origin of many of China's most famous and expensive teas, including the sought-after 'Da Hong Pao', the world's most expensive tea.
